How to Manage Renewal Email Preferences
Staying on top of your certificate renewals is crucial for keeping your website secure. We offer flexible renewal reminder options to help you keep track of your expiring certificates that need to be renewed or re-issued. You can even enable Automatic Renewal to let our system handle SSL renewals for you.
In this guide, we’ll show you how to manage your renewal & notification preferences, ensuring you never miss a critical renewal while staying in control of how and when you’re notified.
Setting Preferences During Certificate Enrollment
During SSL certificate enrollment, you will be prompted to select your preferences for certificate renewals. You can change those settings later from the Renewal & Notifications Settings page on your dashboard.
On the enrollment form, Step 3 allows you to turn on Automatic Renewal for this order, or for all of the eligible SSL orders on your account. Select "Email me reminders, I'll renew manually" if you do not want to enable Auto-Renew.

Enrollment Step 4 gives you the option to verify a phone number for text/SMS reminders. You do not need to enter a phone number here to complete enrollment - you can set up text/SMS reminders later on the Renewal & Notification Settings page of your dashboard.

Manage Your Renewal and Notification Settings
1. Go to CertPanel Dashboard
First, login to your RapidSSLOnline account. If you're not already on the CertPanel dashboard, click My Dashboard at the top right of the screen.

2. Go to Renewal & Notification settings
Hover your cursor over My Account on the top-right of the screen, then click Renewal & Notification Settings in the drop-down menu.
Renewal & Notification Settings
On the Renewal & Notification settings page, you can adjust your email and Text/SMS preferences
Text/SMS Recipients
You can choose to receive renewal notifications by SMS/text message. You must first verify your phone number.
If you want to enable this option, enter your phone number and click Verify Number. We'll send you a one-time password to complete verification.
If you ever want to turn off Text/SMS notifications or change the phone number, click Unsubscribe.

Email Recipients
Here you can adjust the email addresses that receive renewal and re-issue reminders.
Check "Send reminder emails to Admin/Technical contacts" if you want each certificate's admin or technical contact to receive reminders in addition to your main account email. (Note: admin and technical contact emails are set during certificate enrollment and cannot be changed later).
You can also add other email addresses to email the renewal and re-issue notifications to anyone who needs them.

Manage Order Notifications and Auto-Renewal
In this section you can toggle reminder settings for individual orders and turn on Automatic Renewal for SSL certificates.
You will not receive email or text/SMS reminders if Auto-Renew is enabled.
Subscription notifications are managed through the Manage Billing page. Click the Manage button for quick access.

Email Notifications include:
- Order Renewal Notices
- Certificate Reissue Required Alerts
- AutoInstall Service Alerts
What is Automatic Renewal?
Automatic Renewal uses your primary card to renew eligible orders before they expire, with 10% off retail rates.
Manually installed orders use the CSR from the original order to complete the enrollment process for you, but you need to complete validation and installation. Orders using AutoInstall SSL will automatically validate and install the updated certificate.
